Austin Hindu Temple & Comm Center

The Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center, also known as Shree Raseshwari Radha Rani Temple, is a cultural and spiritual center established in 2002 to serve the growing Hindu community in Austin, Texas.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha Rani, and it provides a place of worship, education, and community engagement for Hindus in the Austin area.

The idea of establishing a Hindu temple in Austin began in the early 1990s when a small group of Hindu families came together to celebrate religious festivals and hold prayer meetings in each other’s homes. As the Hindu community in Austin grew, they recognized the need for a permanent place of worship and community center.

In 1998, a group of community leaders formed the Shree Raseshwari Radha Rani Temple Society with the goal of building a Hindu temple in Austin. They began holding fundraising events and soliciting donations from community members to finance the project. Visit Our Website

In 2001, the Society purchased a 10-acre plot of land in the Brushy Creek area of Cedar Park, located about 20 miles north of Austin.

Construction of the temple began in 2002, and it was completed in 2003. The temple was built in the traditional North Indian architectural style, with a main hall, a prayer hall, a dining hall, and several smaller rooms for classes and meetings. The temple is surrounded by landscaped gardens and a large parking lot.

The temple was officially inaugurated on June 22, 2003, with a grand ceremony attended by over 5,000 people. The ceremony included the installation of the main deities, Radha Rani and Shree Krishna, and a consecration ceremony to bless the temple and its surroundings.
